Chroma Key: Chroma key is the name of the tool that you use to layer picture/videos in the same camera shot, A green screen is behind the subject so that you are allowed to set a scene or just to black out the background. Photographers use Chroma keys to block out anything in the background when they only want a picture of the subject e.g. Product advertising. Streams use this a lot especially gamers so when they are playing the game they will have the video form of gameplay edited on to the Chroma key after recording himself playing the game so that the viewers get both a view on the player and the game in one camera shot. Multi Image: Multi image are a multiple of screens showing different shots of images. When a multi image is presented it looks like a collage showing many different pictures. This can be used in things like adverts such as charity’s because if they only have 30seconds to get the point across of what they would like to say then a multi image will be used to show many reason on why to donate in terms of a charity advertisement. Miming & Lip Syncing: Lip sync is used in most music videos, especially some of the latest music videos. Lip Syncing is when they are shooting the music video the artist will mouth the words so that when later on the music video is being edited they will match the pre-recorded with the lip movement so the final outcome will look like the artist is singing in the music video when they were recording it visually. Visual Effect: Visual effect is a special effect but used to set the scene e.g. Fake backgrounds to set a scene that in reality to do would either be impossible or simply too expensive. Every film that has a scene set in space is a visual effect; while they are filming they are just behind a green board that allows a visual effect to be added on later to the editing process. Cutting to the beat: When the beat is in time both visually (the music video) and when you can hear it, but cutting to the beat is when the beat matches the time that something in the music video is being beat to when you can hear the beat, playing together at the same time. This gives the illusion of making the viewers think that the sound is Diegetic. The reason for using cutting the beat is really just to grab the viewers’ attention. As they see and hear the beat they will be more engaged as it should make viewers listen closer to the lyrics/beat because the beat will now be the main thing they think about while watching the music video
